Another painful evening for Telstar. During a visit to MVV in Maastricht, the Limburgers’ counter only stopped at six. Youssef El Kachati somewhat saved the honor (6-1).
In the closing days of the transfer period, Telstar no longer entered the transfer market. Without Jorginho Soares (loaned to the Spanish Terrassa FC) and Zakaria Eddahchouri (injured), things went wrong in the first minute for the White Lions. After some fumbling by Peter Guinari, who handed the ball to Ferre Slegers, the Belgian scored: 1-0.
From a free kick by Bryan Smeets, Özgur Aktas (former Telstar player) headed home behind Ronald Koeman Jr. That was already after ten minutes, making it clear that a long evening would follow for Telstar: 2-0. Guinari continued to fumble and gave Dailon Livramento a forced chance. The striker pushed the ball just wide. That turned out to be a harbinger, because Mart Remans made it 3-0 before half-time.

In the second half it was mainly thanks to Ronald Koeman that the score remained 3-0. Yet Telstar scored a goal of honor out of nowhere. Youssef El Kachati scored his first goal in the shirt of the Velsen team: 3-1. Any possible hope for a result was quickly put on hold.
MVV scored three times within eight minutes. After goalkeeper Koeman’s own goal, Bryan Smeets poured even more salt into the wounds. His last goal was from the penalty spot. Telstar was spared further suffering, leaving the score 6-1.
