Telstar intensifies cooperation with Landvreugd; now also youth in task package

Telstar and assistant coach Ulrich Landvreugd will continue together for at least another year. In addition to his role in the first team, the current trainer of AFC will also take on more tasks at the club from Velsen-Zuid. Landvreugd thus acquires a more active role within the youth academy. “I will be the right hand and the eyes of Andries Jonker with the youth.”

Landvreugd is one of Jonker’s assistants at Telstar this season and combined this with the position of head coach at AFC. country joy announced before say goodbye to the Amsterdam second divisionist. The 50-year-old trainer is also happy at Telstar and when Jonker approached him for the new vacancy, he immediately became enthusiastic. “I participate from the first team to the Under 14. Actually, I will walk and assist with all teams. I like that combination,” says Landvreugd.

Second Division

Telstar and Landvreugd do have a verbal agreement that if a great club comes along for the trainer, he may seize this opportunity. “I have not yet put a beautiful club in the second division or something else beautiful out of my mind. We can say goodbye to each other. But I can now stand on the field, interfere with the first and also with the youth academy” , explains Landvreugd.

Growing youth academy

Telstar trainer Andries Jonker has been very intensively involved in building and improving the youth academy of the club in recent years. Jonker therefore wants more youth teams at Telstar and adding an Under 14 is the next important project. Jonker: “We have asked whether Landvreugd will take on this team together with Jay Kruiver and Abdel El Ouazzane.”
