Telstar holds up well against Roda JC

Telstar managed to win again. The White Lions scored twice within fifteen minutes against Roda JC. In the end, that turned out to be enough for the win: 2-1 David Min, Glynor Plet and Dylan Vente scored the goals.

Telstar’s line-up was unchanged compared to the won match against Jong PSV. Supporters of Roda JC were missing in Velsen-Zuid. The hard core had misbehaved against VVV-Venlo in such a way that the local triangle did not dare. Due to a nice transfer from Glynor Plet, David Min suddenly came face to face with Moritz Nicolas. The RKC mercenary cut out the goalkeeper in a controlled manner and shot in hard: 1-0.

A few minutes later, the White Lions’ lead was doubled. Roda’s Lennerd Daneels threw himself in front of a cross from Jonathan Mulder. According to referee Pol van Boekel, Daneels made hands and gave Telstar a penalty. Glynor Plet gratefully took advantage of the opportunity: 2-0. With that, the Velsenaren were sitting on roses within fifteen minutes. A free kick by Christos Giousis went just over, Roda could only counter a weak shot by Bryan Limbombe.

Do bark, don’t bite

The Limburgers created the first danger in the second half. An attempt by Romano Postema went just wide. That turned out to be the starting signal for a phase in which Roda was emphatically looking for a goal. Despite this, it did not result in any goals. It was Plet who just couldn’t reach a cross for Giousis. Dylan Vente made it exciting by making it 2-1 deep into stoppage time.

The White Lions did not relinquish the victory and therefore won for the second week in a row. Jong PSV was the opponent in the previous match.
