The Velsen team took the lead in the first half through a goal by midfielder Tyrone Owusu. After halftime Telstar made it 0-3 thanks to goals from Patrick Brouwer and Guus Offerhaus. Hoek came back to 1-3, but it was ultimately Telstar striker Milan Zonneveld who scored the last goal of the evening.
And so Telstar recorded a businesslike 4-1 victory and the team qualified for the eighth finals, for which the draw will take place on Friday. “We finished the small chances well. That has been different this season and that is also nice,” said a satisfied Telstar defender Guus Offerhaus.
