Telstar gets through ‘Night NAC’ unscathed and plays a draw

It’s starting to be a repeating story for Telstar. For the third game in a row in the first division, it took a point. On a visit to NAC Breda it was 1-1 by a goal from Mitch Apau.

Captain Glynor Plet was the most striking absentee at the White Lions. He had a minor injury and was already missing in the final training and did not participate against NAC. Anwar Bensabouh was the captain in his absence. After twenty minutes, Vieri Kotzebue gave his team the lead with an assist from Sabir Agougil: 1-0.

The stadium of the Bredenaren swirled for a real evening NAC, but the visitors were not fooled. On the contrary, because Telstar immediately showed resilience and scored the equalizer. Mitch apau was the goalscorer from a corner from Christos giousis: 1-1. It was for the defender his first in the service of the Velsenaren.

Low tension

In the second half, neither team had much of a chance. Except shots from Tom Overtoom and Javier Vet. It lasted until the 75th minute before the Bredenaren got a big chance. Kaj de Rooij gave the ball to Jort van der Sande, but his bet was blocked by the White Lions.

In stoppage time, the home team still had a number of great opportunities, but Telstar held up well in Breda. Due to the draw, Telstar remains in joint eleventh place in the first division. FC Den Bosch and NAC have the same number of points, but a better goal difference. The Velsenaren will play at home next week against ADO Den Haag, which is fifteenth.

Setup Telstar: Koeman; cruiser, apau, briefcase, blackson, Mulder; overtoom, najah, Bensabouh (Ainsalu/80); minus, giousis
