Telekom Baskets Bonn clear up twice at the BBL Awards

Parker Jackson-Cartwright has been voted the Most Valuable Player in the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL).

The American from Telekom Baskets Bonn received 62.2 percent of all votes. The point guard is the first Bonn player ever to be recognized as a Most Valuable Player (MVP).

For Jackson-Cartwright, it is the third MVP award in a row. The 26-year-old had also received the coveted title at his previous stations in Great Britain (2020) and France (2021).

For the Bundesliga leaders, the MVP trophy is not the only reason to be happy. Head coach Tuomas Iisalo was honored as coach of the year.

The 39-year-old Finn, who received 64.4 percent of all votes, took over the baskets last summer. Already two games before the end of the season, he and his team achieved the most wins in the club’s history in a regular season.

Justus Hollatz again best BBL junior player

Meanwhile, Justus Hollatz has been voted the best German BBL junior player (U22).

The 21-year-old Hamburg Towers point guard, for whom this is the second award in a row, received 26.9 percent of all votes.

The awards are presented by the BBL during a home game of the respective teams. All head coaches and team captains as well as the sporting management of the clubs and selected media representatives were entitled to vote in advance.
