Telephone and unions are speeding up the negotiation deadlines and are approaching positions for an agreement on the conditions of the workforce reduction that the group wants to carry out in Spain through several ERE. The management of the operator has once again reduced the number of people affected by layoffs in its large Spanish subsidiaries and has once again improved the compensation conditions for affected workers.
The management of the operator has once again reduced the number of people affected by the employment regulation files (ERE), now up to a maximum of 3,411 workers. The company has reduced the number of departures this Thursday by 148 compared to the previous offer (which contemplated 3,559 departures) and by 548 in two days (with 3,959), as confirmed by union sources. In the two weeks of meetings between the operator and the unions, the number of layoffs has been reduced by 1,713 compared to the first figure of labor surplus that management proposed (5,124 layoffs).

The operator has once again raised its offer of compensation for those who benefit from the three ERE, one for each affected subsidiary (Telefónica de España, Telefónica Móvil and Telefónica Soluciones). The corporation’s proposal involves dividing the economic conditions for workers affected by the ERE into three different sections depending on their age.
The new improved offer presented by the company means that those born in 1968 (who are now 55 years old) would receive 68% of the regulatory salary until they turn 63 and 38% until they are 65. Those born between 1967 and 1965 would receive 62 % of the salary until 63 and 34% until 65, with an additional bonus of 10,000 euros for those who voluntarily take part in the exits. And those born in 1964 or in previous years maintain 52% of the regulatory salary and 34% until retirement, but with the bonus of 10,000 euros.
