The police are calling on everyone in Tel Aviv to stay indoors because the gunman is still active, Telegraaf correspondent Ralph Dekkers said. Police say the suspected gunman is wearing black shorts and a black T-shirt. He has a blue backpack with him.
Of the 12 injured, at least four people are said to be in critical condition, the Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv said.

Television shows how at least a thousand armed officers walk along the busy nightlife street in search of the perpetrator, while a helicopter flies above the street. Soldiers have also started the hunt for the perpetrator.
It is the fourth attack in Israel in three weeks. Eleven people have died to date. Earlier there were attacks in Beer Sheva, Hadera and Bnei Brak.
There was also a shooting in Dizengoff in 2016. Then two people died in a bar, several were injured.
