In the Austrian capital Vienna, a 16-year-old boy has reported the attack on three sleeping homeless people to the police. Two victims died from stab wounds last summer.
The boy declared himself to be the wanted ‘homeless killer’. He stated that he heard voices urging him to commit violence.
The suspected perpetrator reported to the police station yesterday with a lawyer because he was having difficulty with his conscience. The murder weapon, a kitchen knife, has now been seized. According to the newspaper ‘Kronen Zeitung’, the object was hidden in his father’s sofa.
Reward of 10,000 euros
The victims were stabbed in July and August, in the space of just under a month. Two men aged 55 and 56 died. A 51-year-old woman was seriously injured but survived. The police already suspected that one person was behind the attacks.
The police offered a reward of 10,000 euros for any golden tip. In response to the stabbing incidents, aid organizations started providing additional night shelter capacity for homeless people.
