Teenager (15) stabbed man in schoolyard while ‘talking out’ of argument

The 35-year-old man from Breda who was stabbed on Tuesday evening in a schoolyard by a 15-year-old boy was there to talk out an argument. This is reported by the police. The man and the boy wanted to talk about their argument in ‘a general location’, but that got out of hand. The stabbing happened on the square of primary school De Griffioen in Prinsenbeek.

Just before half past seven, the police received a report of a stabbing on the square on Vaandelstraat. There they found the injured man. He was later treated by paramedics.

According to the police, an argument is believed to have preceded the incident. The 15-year-old son of the stabbed man would also have been involved. It is not known what the dispute was about. It is also unclear what the link is between the two teenagers.

At the time of the stabbing, there were several children and young people in the schoolyard. The police emphasize that they have nothing to do with it. Victim support has been called in for them. It was previously known that the 15-year-old suspect was taken in for questioning. Like the victim, he comes from Breda.

Local residents say they are more likely to be inconvenienced by young people in the schoolyard. They would make a lot of noise with their mopeds and leave behind empty cans, bottles and crates of beer. There would also be more fighting. “A few times a week,” said a man who lives on the square.
