Teenager (14) arrested for failed robberies at the Pinoké hockey club

A 14-year-old boy reported to the police yesterday because he allegedly tried to rob two members and a trainer of the Pinoké hockey club last Wednesday. That happened on the Jan Tooroplaan, near the hockey complex in the Amsterdamse Bos.

The first victim is a trainer of the club. Shortly after the woman left the club between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM, she was approached by two boys. While threatening her with a weapon, they demand her phone.

Because the woman is currently participating in an online meeting, she has her smartphone in her hands. When she tells the perpetrators that all participants in the meeting can see them, they take their money and run away.

Nipped in the bud

The second robbery, a little later and also on Jan Tooroplaan, is also nipped in the bud. The two robbers force a young cycling hockey player to stop and hand over his belongings. They say they have a knife with them, but when they see more hockey players approaching, they flee without any loot.

The victims raise the alarm with the police, who immediately send officers to the Amsterdamse Bos. They comb the area, but find no more suspects that evening. The 14-year-old boy who came forward yesterday is no longer in custody, but is officially a suspect. The police now also know who the second suspect is, although he has yet to be interrogated.

So there were only two attempts, but the events caused a lot of unrest among members of Pinoké and their parents. Although the club previously gave the advice, she repeats the call to members to cycle to and from the hockey fields alone in groups. The club writes that boas will patrol the complex more often in the near future.

Pinoké members and others are called upon to report or file a report if something similar has happened to them.
