Teemu Selänten the tweet he posted on Friday drew a dismayed reaction.
Selänne retweeted the clip from the White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre about speech. In the video, Jean-Pierre showed support for the trans community, which has experienced threats and danger since the school shooting in Nashville.

Selänne expressed in his tweet that he did not digest Jean-Pierre’s speech.
– What? Are you serious, Karine Jean-Pierre? Do you feel sorry for the trans community? Wow, trans women just killed six innocent people and you feel sorry for the trans community. My God, Selänne tweeted.

– This was not about the trans issue, and my point was not to say that transgender people are bad. I respect everyone. This crime was about one sick person and I hope this does not offend other transgender people. In my opinion, Jean-Pierre’s speech just didn’t sound good, Selänne tweeted.
The White House had already expressed its condolences to the families of the victims of the school shooting earlier in the week and expressed its sorrow over the tragedy.
