Teemu Selänne took a position on politics on the social media service Twitter.
The discussion started when Selänne commented on the chairman of the Green Party Maria Ohisalon tweets from the right-wing government. Ohisalo was worried about the climate goals and felt that the right-wing conservative government knows “a cold ride for people and the environment”.
– Now we are weighing values and principles. I still appeal to RKP that the party does not become a support party for basic Finnish politics, Ohisalo wrote.
Selänne comments on Ohisalo’s texts with a laughing and face-covering emoji. The hockey legend presented his own thoughts at the same time.
– Or should Maria just look in the mirror and say that she didn’t succeed, and let others try… Yes, the popularity of your green-left has told how your affairs went… The people have spoken, all you have to do is squirm away… Slänne wrote.

Ohisalo replied to Selänte.
– Hey Teemu, politics is all about values and principles. It is a strange idea that in an open democracy a member of parliament should not talk about them.
In Selänte’s opinion, no one said that values and principles should not be talked about.
– Now it’s the turn of others to try… You already showed what you were capable of… the puck player added.

Selänne also commented on the MP from the left-wing coalition Minja Koskelan tweets.
Koskela wrote on Thursday that he thinks marches belong to May Day and demonstrations to democracy.
– Li (Andersson)Minja… Along the same lines as Paavo… The left has taken off its mask, there’s nothing else to do but run amok in the street… Slänne reloaded.

The ex-hockey player referred to the deputy mayor of Helsinki Paavo Arhinmäki (left) to Thursday for a Facebook updatein which Arhinmäki urged the people to march in the streets with red flags and oppose the “black right-wing government”.
Selänte’s Arhinmäki case did not stop there. He told the ex-minister about his “turning off or giving up” at the Lions’ Olympic bronze medal ceremony in 2014.
– Should Paavo be allowed to sleep again like he used to in Sochi… Selänne, who played in the Olympic bronze medal team, tweeted the parliament member of the coalition Hi Sammallahde.

Arhinmäki was Finland’s Minister of Sports and Culture in 2014. His alcohol use made headlines during the Sochi Olympics.
– It’s worth learning from mistakes. An amateur like me should not go on the journey of NHL professionals. It tackles the air in the yard. I was thinking of marching on my own this May Day as well, Arhinmäki replied to Seläntee.
– SpongeBob, you can do better, Selänne answered.
The coalition will start government negotiations with the Basic Finns, the Christian Democrats and the RKP next week.
