Technoboost stimulates young people with technology

Yesterday the primary schools came by, this morning it was the turn of the fifth year from secondary school. Stimulating young people for a job in the technical or technological sector. That’s what Technoboost is all about.

“Technoboost is a collaboration of 10 partners who want to make students enthusiastic about techniques, technology,” explains Valerie Deleersnyder. "We have companies from the construction sector, from the plastics sector, electricity, mechanics, textiles and food.”

At technoboost, students can, for example, take a course with a small drone, but also learn how important ergonomics are in the construction sector. It remains important to get young people ‘enthusiastic’ for a technical profession at an early age. Because the demand for workers is high, the company Gearcraft from Waregem also says: “We are looking for well-trained profiles every day. Which is very tight. It is really a battle between the companies to find someone.”
