Techetechè Showthe summer version
After the growing success of the program which retrieves the best of past TV from the Rai archives, this summer Techetechete offers three evening appointments. After the first episode dedicated to the myth of Gianni Morandi, tonight it will be Claudio Baglioni’s turn while next Friday will end in style with a tribute to Fiorello. Structured as a journey through the places of the characters’ hearts, the program conducted by Flavio Insinna will offer a careful selection of rare repertoires and precious archival materials coming from Teche Rai. There are also two other appointments to be placed in the winter schedule. One on Gigi Proietti, the other, which could be aired during the Christmas period, dedicated, it seems, to Lucio Battisti.
During the presentation press conference, Insinna said his management style will certainly not be the exuberant one we are used to. «I will not be the conductor» said the presenter «I like more the image of the revolving door, the narrator actorand that after 7-8 minutes of seeing and listening to that interview, that duet, that unplugged that you didn’t remember, he comes in and says: well, at that concert then this happened and the story starts again from our marvelous display cases».

The story of Claudio Baglioni
Born in Rome in 1951, the singer-songwriter already at the age of 14 began to perform with his guitar in small clubs in the capital and in the wake of the French intellectuals, he dresses Sartre: black turtleneck, thick glasses and texts inspired by the stories of Edgar Allan Poe. Then, in the years of the Contestation, unlike his immediately politicized Roman friends, he chooses to set aside busy themes and devote himself exclusively to the love song. After a few tryouts, he got his first contract and in 1969 the success of Mrs Lia.
In 1972 the consecration with Little big lovealbum and song that entered the history of Italian music. Defined as the Italian song of the century, the ballad of the “fine shirt” is an unprecedented success. The following year, and in great secrecy so as not to disappoint the fans, Claudio marries Paola Massari. Inspiring muse of all the romantic ballads of the period. And many more songs will follow. Resounding successes still today as And you, Beautiful love, Saturday afternoon. Throughout the decade, Baglioni slips one hit after another, honing his skills as a composer and lyricist, slowly detaching himself from the cliché he himself created. The traditionally amorous lexicon – sea, sun and sky – is slowly being set aside for explore themes such as loneliness, the outcasts of society, anger. Thus, almost at the dawn of the eighties, a new singer-songwriter appears. Finally appreciated even by the most snobbish critics.
A success in music and on TV
In full existentialist phase, Claudio churns out almost hermetic songs, abandoning the descriptive tones of the previous ones to rely on metaphors, flashes, ellipses. As in the album Along the way where songs such as Eastern girls, The old ones and the hit Street which sanction a new metamorphosis that will reach its climax with the 1985 album Life is now, the best-selling Italian record in history. To seal a decade of triumphs, the birth in 1982 of his son Giovannito whom Baglioni will dedicate the splendid You will have.
Skipping a few years, paralleling the 1995 release of the album I am here, for Claudio also comes the debut in a television variety. The occasion is the program conducted by Fabio Fazio My soula revival show that ironically retraced the mass culture, including music, of the 70s. Baglioni is, surprisingly, co-host, also indulging in amusing sketches and reinterpreting famous acronyms and carousel songs of the time.
A real showman, self-ironic and funnywhich will contribute to the resounding success of the show. The accumulated experience will lead Baglioni, twenty years later, to lead the Sanremo Festival. Two editions as conductor, as well as artistic directorwhich will be yet another triumph.
