A high school in Berlin-Neukölln was evacuated on Thursday because of sprayed irritant gas.

A previously unknown person sprayed the irritant gas in a men’s toilet around 12 noon, a police spokesman said on Friday.

Five youths and men between the ages of 14 and 57 were injured. Among them was a 16-year-old who was taken to a hospital.

The alarmed fire brigade and the police cleared the school, students and teachers gathered in a neighboring cemetery on Karl-Marx-Strasse. The school building was ventilated.
