Tchibo launches sustainable fashion label Nah/Studio

The Hamburg coffee specialist and multichannel provider Tchibo has launched its own fashion label for women called Nah/Studio. It is available now from Tchibo’s website.

Tchibo launches women’s line

The new women’s line, which describes itself on the Tchibo website as a “small satellite in the Tchibo cosmos with big ambitions”, aims to offer sustainable clothing, with the focus on the materials used. Renewable and recycled raw materials are used.

Parts of the collection are made of cotton in conversion, which means that cotton is used that is already grown according to the same requirements as organic cotton, but is still in the transition phase from conventional to organic cotton.

When it comes to fibers of animal origin, here cashmere and merino wool, Tchibo uses cashmere wool – certified according to The Good Cashmere Standard. Merino wool is certified according to the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS). Recycled cashmere and recycled merino wool are also used, some with certificates from the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS).

Cellulosic fibers such as Tencel are also used in the collection. On the other hand, petroleum-based synthetic fibers are largely avoided and recycled materials are used wherever possible.

To ensure the clothing’s biodegradability, the website says the collection is “chemical-free” and “free of petroleum-based fibers” and is “made only with biodegradable dyes.”

The current range costs between EUR 24.99 for T-shirts and EUR 219 for a coat made from recycled wool. There are also different bags between 14.99 euros and 19.99 euros.
