The table tennis ladies from TTC Eastside Berlin have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
After beating UCAM Cartagena 3-2 in Group A on Friday night, last year’s finalists can no longer be ousted from second place. The defeated Spaniards have already secured top spot in their group after beating Cagliari 3-0 in their last match on Sunday.
In the decisive fifth individual, the unstable Shan Xiaona finally became the match winner for Eastside after two and a half hours with her 3-0 win against Silvia Erdelyi. Like Nina Mittelham, Shan won once and suffered one loss.
