US musician Taylor Swift (33) has set another record with the music streaming market leader Spotify.

Swift is the first artist in Spotify’s history to reach 100 million monthly listeners, the company announced on Tuesday (local time) on the online platform X (formerly Twitter). Swift succeeded in doing this on August 29. The tweet featured a crown emoji and dubbed Swift the queen.

Canadian singer The Weeknd was the first musician ever to reach the 100 million monthly listeners mark on Spotify in February. Swift is now the first woman to do so.

Swift had already set Spotify records last fall. In October 2022, their new album “Midnights” was streamed more times in one day than any previous album, as Spotify announced at the time. It also made the singer the most-streamed artist in one day in the history of the service.

Swift has been touring the world since March with her The Eras Tour. The European leg of the tour is scheduled to start in Paris in May 2024. In July next year she also wants to be on stage in Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg and Munich.

A few weeks ago she announced a new recording of her album “1989”. 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is scheduled for release on October 27th. Swift hit the charts in July with her reissued album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).
