The Top 20 of the Official German Vinyl Charts for October (September 30th to November 3rd) are here. Winner of the month is Taylor Swift with “Midnights”.
According to the Gesellschaft für Verbraucherforschung (GfK), the musician recorded sales successes with her new work that neither a singer nor international solo artists had previously been able to record. In the first week after its release, 17,000 records of “Midnights” were sold in Germany.
The musician didn’t just break this record. Here is an excerpt of the top performances achieved by “Midnights”.
The bronze and silver medals go to…
With their second album from 2022, the Red Hot Chili Peppers secured second place with “Return Of The Dream Canteen”, followed by the doctors with “Planet Punk” in third place.
In the last week’s evaluation (week 45) of the Official German Charts by GfK, the Beatles beat Swift’s new production with their technically completely renewed 56-year-old work “Revolver”. In the vinyl charts, the Fab Four – contrary to possible expectations – did not even reach the top 3, but appear in seventh position.
Ozzy Osbourne and Kraftklub are in the charts for the second month
Also representing the rock genre are numbers four and five with Slipknot’s “The End, So Far” and Arctic Monkeys’ “The Car”. In addition to Swift, there are other pop records with “True North” by a-ha (rank 6), “Wanda” by Wanda (rank 12) and “Olympia” by Betterov (rank 13).
Kraftklub’s “Kargo” and Ozzy Osbourne’s “Patient Number 9” have held up in the top 20 since September, though both works have slipped more than ten positions.
GfK uses the sales and usage data from 2,800 retailers as the basis for the figures determined.
