September 27th sees the second tribute concert honoring the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins. Now it is also clear which artists will complete the line-up for the mega show in the Californian Kia Forum.
Foo Fighters announced the lineup in an Instagram post, which includes Miley Cyrus, Soundgarden’s Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, members of Queen and Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the former Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, Pink and Nandi Bushell, and Kesha. You can find the full line-up here:
The Foo Fighters also released an official statement about the shows on their website:
“One of the most respected and loved figures in modern music, Taylor’s monolithic talent and compelling personality has delighted millions of fans, colleagues, friends and fellow music legends around the world. Millions of people mourned his passing on March 25, and both fans and musicians who admired Taylor paid passionate and sincere tributes. The Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concerts will bring together some of these artists, the Hawkins family and of course his Foo Fighters brothers to celebrate Taylor’s memory and legacy as a global rock icon – his bandmates and inspirations playing the songs he is inspired by fell in love and brought to life”.
Previously, the Foo Fighters paid tribute to Taylor Hawkins on September 3 along with the Hawkins family. They celebrated the drummer with a six-hour concert at London’s Wembley Stadium. There were occasional performances by AC/DC’s Liam Gallagher, Dave Grohl, Mark Ronson, Josh Homme and Brian Johnson. See the setlist including footage from the live performances here.
