A taxi driver was threatened on Saturday night by two men he brought from Tilburg to Haaren. They then got out of the taxi without paying and disappeared.
The taxi driver picked up the two men around half past eleven at the Heuvelring in Tilburg. Together with another woman they got into the taxi, a black Mercedes Vito.
Discussion
After the taxi driver dropped off the woman near the Albert Heijn XL in Tilburg, he drove on to Haaren to drop the two men off. Arriving in the Amerlaan, the men had to pay fifty euros for the taxi ride. They apparently thought this was too much. There was a discussion about the amount.
During that altercation, one of the men suddenly grabbed the taxi driver from behind and held him in a headlock until his friend got out. He then opened the sliding door of the taxi for his mate, after which the two fled.
Good description
Police estimate the two men to be around 24 years old. The police have a good description of them and know a first name. “In addition, camera images will be checked,” said a police spokesperson.
