Tennis professional Tatjana Maria is about to win her second tournament on the WTA tour. In her first semi-final in three years, the 34-year-old defeated the Russian Kamilla Rachimova 6-2, 6-2 in Bogota/Colombia on Saturday.
In the final of the clay court competition on Sunday, Maria is also spared the duel with the highly rated defending champion: Local hero Camila Osorio, seeded in first place, was surprisingly 5: 7, 6: 7 (2: 7) at the Brazilian qualifier immediately before Maria’s match Laura Pigossi failed.
Maria triumphed in the grass tournament in Mallorca in 2018. Due to her strong performance in Colombia (total prize money 239,477 dollars) she will be among the top 150 players in the world again from Monday.
