Tata Steel is forced to cut 800 jobs | Domestic

According to Tata Steel, the steel market has been struggling for some time and in order to remain competitive and profitable in the future, the steel producer wants to further reduce personnel costs.

Tata has not ruled out forced redundancies and says it will discuss a social plan with trade unions. The decision is expected to affect approximately five hundred employees employed by the steel company. This mainly concerns those who are active in, for example, management or support functions. The remaining three hundred jobs involve temporary workers.

A total of 11,500 people work for Tata Steel in the Netherlands. The factory in IJmuiden employs 9,200 people.
