That couple comes from a German village that has even incorporated the noble sport of chess into its official name: Schachdorf Ströbeck. So it is logical that they come to Wijk aan Zee right now, during the Tata Steel Chess Tournament. But friendship transcends the chessboard, as this NH report shows: “We understand each other.
