On three laps from the end, five men rode away from the peloton: Iben Rommelaere and Wout Hemeryck from Dovy Keukens, Tars Poelvoorde and two riders from VDM-Trawobo. Wanty led the peloton in the chase for the leader in the Road Series, Zeno Moonen. But a massive fall threw a spanner in the works.
