SM league disciplinary delegation ordered Tappara’s head coach To Rikard Grönborg a fine.
Grönborg, who is coaching Tapparaa in his first season, received a contract fine of 10,000 euros for unsportsmanlike behavior.
CEO of the SM League Mikko Pulkkinen placed Grönborg’s behavior on Monday for a disciplinary hearing. According to the SM league, the reason was the use of unsportsmanlike language during the press conference of the Tappara-HIFK match on Saturday.

– The disciplinary delegation states that Grönborg’s choice of words used in the conversation and directed at the head of referees of the League fulfills defamatory language according to rule 75.5 and also unsportsmanlike behavior in section 3, point c of the disciplinary rules, the decision of the disciplinarian said.
The coach disagreed with at least two tackling situations, for which HIFK did not receive penalties.
– Should have been judged for two outs. The first came directly to the head and the second was a knee strike, Grönborg said.
Grönborg’s fury was recorded For MTV videotape and has caused much discussion.
Tappara won the match 4–3.
Grönborg can appeal his punishment to the Sports Legal Protection Board.
