Tapio Suominen surprises with a new project

Tapio Suominen’s alter ego is adventuring in the detective story below the work.

Could I write a detective story?

Tapio Suominen asked himself the same question as many other detective geeks.

He decided to give it a try.

– In a way, it was a search for one’s own limits, Suominen thinks.

– First there was an idea or a dream that started to take shape and led to the fact that a little over a year ago I wrote the basic body, i.e. 250 pages, in four months. I put it to wait and mature for a while, but now I’ve started making the finishing touches.

Suominen is known as a professional speaker, but he assures that a pen also works.

– I like to write. The process itself was great and rewarding.

The pen produced Suominen’s alter ego, Juhani Rekosen, a secret policeman living in Hattula.

– Rekonen is an everyday hustler and a bit of a life bump, definitely not a cover-boy-like secret policeman. I’ve tasted alcohol too.

Suominen hopes that the book will be in stores in the fall.

– There is interest, but the publisher still wants to get to know the corrected version. I am hopeful.

“I soften my visage with stories”

In addition to the detective project and directing and narration work, Suominen runs a sports-themed quiz in Tampere. In the near future, you can also take part in Urheilu’s sports quiz in Joensuu, Kauhajoki and Turku, and later in the spring in Jyväskylä and Lahti.

– It’s a game with a slightly different approach: not centimetres, not seconds, but the sports world from different perspectives, Suominen says.

– I fill my visa with stories from the backrooms of sports with the theme “one uncle, a thousand stories”.
