The US fashion group Tapestry Inc. has filled the two leading posts in the creative department of its Kate Spade brand. As the company announced on Thursday, Tom Mora took over the position of SVP and Head of Design for the Ready-to-Wear and Lifestyle areas. Jennifer Lyu has been appointed SVP and Head of Design for the Leather Goods and Accessories categories. The duo is now to create a “uniform design language that encompasses all product categories” based on the traditional brand elements with fresh perspectives, according to a statement.
Mora and Lyu have been part of Kate Spade’s creative team since spring 2021 and have now been officially promoted. Both can look back on decades of experience in the fashion sector. Over the course of his career, Mora has held senior creative positions at Cole Haan, J.Crew and Coach, while Lyu has designed for brands such as Tory Burch, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Emilio Pucci, Louis Vuitton and Prada.
