The runway at Eindhoven Airport was temporarily closed because a military plane had landed as a precaution. It concerned a tanker aircraft whose tank hose could no longer be folded. Two flights had to divert to Maastricht Airport.
The tanker flew past Eindhoven Airport for inspection around three o’clock. During the flight, a problem arose with the refueling system, which is located under the left wing of the aircraft. The system could not be folded, so that a tank hose hung about fifteen meters from it.
The fire brigade was ready as a precaution, but the aircraft had landed safely. An investigation is underway to determine what exactly happened.
