It was still a few hours flight to Schiphol when she decided to go to the toilet. To her great surprise, after two contractions, she suddenly had a baby in her hands, according to the website of the Spaarne Gasthuis Haarlem South.
Fortunately, two doctors and a nurse from Austria were also present on board the plane. They were able to help Tamara on the spot. As a thank you, Tamara named her son after one of the doctors: Maximiliano. A striking story, all the more so because Tamara had no idea that she had been pregnant.
Once at Schiphol, Tamara and her brand new son were taken by ambulance to the Spaarne Gasthuis Haarlem South, where they were received in the birth ward. Both Tamara and Maximiliano were in good health. They have since left the Spaarne Gasthuis. When asked, the hospital does not provide information about Tamara’s nationality and age.
