Talpa reacts to strange ‘slip of the tongue’ about Humberto Tan

René van der Gijp causes a lot of confusion with his statements about Humberto Tan. According to the employer of the VI star, Talpa Network, this is a ‘slip of the tongue’.

Today Inside’s candle exit made little impression on René van der Gijp. He said he had already resigned himself by the end of the program. “I thought for 48 hours: it’s a shame it’s not happening, and then you go do other things,” said the football analyst on Monday during his return to television.

René about Humberto

What would René then do instead of VI? “Then I thought to myself: well, next year they will start again at Talpa with that program of Humberto Tan, maybe it would be nice to interfere with that. Because a good sports program is quite…, isn’t it?”

He continues: “You have that shit show from Studio Voetbal and that shit show from Rondo. Well, there is quite room for a good sports program. If they do that well, they will have 700 or 800,000 people on Monday and Friday.”

Confusion

René’s statements caused quite a bit of confusion, because Humberto is with RTL and no transfer to Talpa has been announced. Plus, it’s no secret that Humberto and VI’s men are each other’s arch-enemies.

It was also very confusing for media journalist Jordi Versteegden of De Telegraaf. “I thought, huh, did I miss a press release? Is Humberto going to Talpa? Today I also checked that again with Talpa and they say: ‘It has been a slip of the tongue and there is absolutely nothing true’”, he says at Telegraaf TV.

Slip of the tongue

According to Talpa, there is therefore nothing more wrong than a slip of the tongue† “The spokesperson says: ‘I think René meant that a merger is imminent’ – if it still goes ahead – ‘between RTL and Talpa and that it could then be possible that René could join a program by Humberto.’ ”

Jordi concludes: “There’s really nothing to worry about here either. It remains men who just shout something of course. Then something rolls out and the whole country is turned upside down.”
