Nadia Moussaid provides quite a surprise: her new talk show in the eve of NPO 1 will not be broadcast live. “You especially want to see something that is very live there?!”
NPO 1 removed the unwanted De Vooravond from the tube because it was ‘not urgent enough’ and now they are going to broadcast a talk show at the same time that will not even be broadcast live on television. Nadia Moussaid’s new talk show appears to be pre-recorded; to save money just two in a day.
Two a day
It’s unbelievable, says Angela de Jong in her AD Media podcast. “I understand that it has to have a kind of Sonja Barend-esque, Oprah Winfrey-esque set-up with a lot of people and a lot of opinions. It will not be live either and I find that the most shocking thing for that time.”
Colleague Dennis Jansen, media journalist for the newspaper, adds: “Two broadcasts in one day are recorded, I understand.”
‘You want live, don’t you?!’
Angela finds it impossible. “Yes, then you have ten episodes on it in five days. Then you can also continue to present Op1, because I understand that she will continue to do so. I think it is quite a special choice of the public broadcaster.”
She thinks it’s a huge miss. “You especially want to see something that is very live there, right? Just the live talk of the day. If you do something that is not live, give me A House Full, I always think.”
‘try what’
Dennis wants to give it a chance. “They can try something. There are so many talk shows.”
Angela has less of that feeling. “Yes, but live television is still a lot more exciting to watch than if you know that all the mistakes and uhs and ahs have been cut out anyway.”
What does Tina say?
What does Tina Nijkamp actually think of it? The same. “Oh dear. That is bad for the viewing figures, because less topical and therefore much less compelling.
She concludes: “Hopefully it won’t be a House of Commons or Rondom 10/Hollandse Zaken-like programme. Then the viewing figures can become very difficult at 7 p.m..”
