Unsafe feeling
Research by EenVandaag shows that forty-two percent of the LGBTI panelleds have had to deal with negative reactions in the past year: harassment, silly jokes or downright scolding. And that doesn’t stop with words. Twelve percent were threatened and nine percent even spit.

Why does the acceptance fall?
According to researcher Jeroen Kester van EenVandaag, a steady but sharp fall is visible. “It has gone gradually, but unmistakably. There is a social shift going on, influenced by both domestic and international conservative movements.”
What is also striking is that more and more people in the domestic circle dare to say aloud that they find the visibility and rights of LGBTI people exaggerated. And that makes it even more difficult for many people to be themselves.
