Talk Drents With Me with Roelie Lubbers-Hilbrands

Roelie was an underniming wichie who grubbed up on the farm. They liked that very much, but they also wanted to see what there was to see there anyway.

Roelie gruide in Slien with the Drents in cover and Dutch on scheel: “It is an enrichment daj who knows both languages”.

Roelie gave them high school in Emmen: “Actually, I never hide under chairs or benches that I came from a butendörp”. After the first year, Roelie was all ready to come and stay at the farm. The tents became deliberate in the country and her dad was still mischievous. Hie har het draod lösdaon, so that in the morning the cows really put up after the tent.

Roelie really didn’t know what she wanted to study. She chose the Higher Hotel School, because she felt that she could go with all sides of it later on. The study was nice, but she still didn’t see her always working in the hotel world. So after the Hotel School they study accountancy, an accountant spends weeks looking at the ciefers. That exchange seemed a bit off. The study lasted eight years and she did her wark as an assistant accountant.

“Ambition is not just about coming up higher and earning more and having a very high position, but ambition is ok doing something nice with your life where something else is ok.” See thinks it’s nice to bet in the west every now and then, but it’s always nice to come back to Drenthe.

Roelie does a lot of things that have to do with sports and culture, that was okay with her upbringing. Enthusiastic as she is, she is always full of inspiration everywhere. In particular, doing things together is always doing okay.
