Naci Ünüvar has extended his contract with Ajax by three years until the summer of 2026. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder still had a contract for one year with the team from Amsterdam. As a result, there was speculation about a possible departure from the national champion.
Ünüvar has been with the Amsterdam team since the preparation for the new season and gets the chance to prove himself.
“I just trained today, but it was a little more special than usual. My goal is to succeed at Ajax, that has never changed. Now I can take the last steps,” says Ünüvar on the club’s website. “In the preparation I have to show it and seize the opportunities that are there with both hands.”
Ünüvar went through Ajax’s youth academy from 2011 and made his debut in the first team on January 22, 2020 in the Ajax – SV Spakenburg (7-0) cup match. In that game, he immediately scored a goal. Ünüvar has so far played three matches in Ajax’s main squad.
