Taking a break on the beach of Egmond: extra crowds for rescue brigade and catering

It is tropically warm in the province and that is why many people seek cooling off from the beach. The rescue brigade is paying extra attention and the catering industry is working overtime. Reporter Tom Jurriaans took a look.

The Egmond rescue brigade has no fewer than twenty lifeguards ready today, says Ron Zentveld. They keep a close eye on the bathers. Despite the enormous crowds, they have not had to take any further action yet. According to Ron, this is because the weather is calm.

The bathers are also taking it easy today. They seek as much cooling as possible in the lee and the water. Tom Jurriaans asked them, among other things, how they get through the heat. He also went to the beach pavilions, where the employees walked their legs under their bodies.
