Takeover KV Kortrijk: “Investing in the club and in the city”
The Polish-American entrepreneurs visited the club and want to make clear what their goal is: to provide a quality injection, to guarantee talent and to maintain a relationship with the city. A bit in American style, they only made a statement. But it was pleasant.
With a handshake and a hug. This is how the American buyers of KV Kortrijk arrive. Tight in the suit, sunglasses on the nose. (Read more below the photo)
Investing in the club and in the city
Son Michael Kaminski takes the floor at the press presentation. He reads a statement. “This is only the beginning of a new adventure. This project is not only an investment in the football club, but also in the city. My father and I, and everyone at KAM Sports understand that the Jupiler Pro League is strong. At Kortrijk we want securing talent and increasing the quality of the team.” (Read more below the photo)
No clubs in a network yet, but making the fans proud
KAM Sports currently does not have a network of clubs to fall back on. It is therefore still unclear how the Americans want to ensure extra quality.
Michael Kaminski: “Our ultimate goal is to make the fans proud. To achieve that, we want to develop the team through quality injections and talent development, with a strong connection to the local community.”
“However, success is not easy to achieve. KV Kortrijk has been playing in the top division for sixteen seasons. That is rare and admirable. We are confident that this club has a bright future and we want to continue what the club has already achieved. We are pleased that Kortrijk has a strong fan base and is one of the most popular teams in the region.”
We have not heard anything about the acquisition price. 15 to 17.5 million euros, we hear. The bond with the city will be strong, but no word yet on investments in a stadium.
There was also no preview of a new CEO, a new trainer or the timing of their appointment.
