Alex Maas, a valued colleague, recently proudly celebrated his 12.5-year anniversary at the workshop in Waddinxveen. He likes that he is not only seen by his employer, but also genuinely appreciated. On the day of his anniversary, two large boxes of sausage rolls were ordered for all colleagues and he received gift vouchers and a beautiful bouquet of flowers. “It’s nice that it didn’t go unnoticed.”

Customers come for a cup of coffee
The Van der Linden Group is a close-knit family business that has existed since 1935. A family business with regular faces, where personal relationships and trust are central. That’s exactly what appeals to Alex. “Now that I’ve been working there for a while, I know a lot of customers. Some people even stop by for a cup of coffee or just to say hello. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly.”
Fun and staff outings
Alex is the manager of the workshop in Waddinxveen and coordinates the work for eleven car mechanics. According to him, everyone works hard when necessary and there is also room to enjoy their time.
The car company attaches great importance to maintaining good mutual relations. There is a pleasant Friday afternoon drink, a company football tournament and regular staff outings. Alex cherishes fond memories of the trip to Belgium. “All partners were also welcome. We had the choice between a beer tasting and a chocolate workshop. The day ended with a delicious dinner. Really amazing.”

Alex’s enjoyment of the car company comes not only from the fun, but also from the professional aspects of his work and the career opportunities offered. The Van der Linden Group is constantly working on the latest techniques and developments in the automotive sector. The company has even been awarded as the hydrogen dealer of the Netherlands.
“We of course have a lot to do with the regular maintenance of cars, but complex issues also arise. The Van der Linden Group also serves customers with electric cars and hydrogen cars, vehicles full of technology. Finding out the cause of malfunctions then presents a wonderful challenge.”
