Early summer and June are the best time to pick wild herbs.
Mari Moilanen
In June, nature’s free herbal table serves the following delicacies.
Pick-up leaves
Horsman, fox bread, ahomansikka, rowan, nettle, pork goose, raspberry, blueberry and birch leaves, among others, await their pick.
Beat the milled leaves with the salad.
Picky flowers
In June, the first flowers will open their petals. Pick at least the delicate flowers, dandelions and small pansies of fox bread. Garnish with wildflowers cakes, pies, smoothies and salads.
Trees
Spruce and pine trees are the best in early June. Usually by midsummer, the rush hour is over.
Prepare the curd syrup to be served with the ice cream, grave them with fish or pickle the cucumbers in a container.
