The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, in turn, reported 11 wounded. “11 servicemen injured during the conflict were taken to the hospital. They are in moderate condition. Civilians did not act, ”- clarified in the department in a conversation with Sputnik-Kyrgyzstan.
The conflict in the border areas of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred on January 27. The parties accuse each other of starting unfriendly actions.
In Kyrgyzstan, they claimed that the conflict was started by neighbors who unilaterally blocked the Batken-Isfana highway. In Tajikistan, they said that the cause of the conflict was the fact that a group of 50 citizens of Kyrgyzstan “forcibly” stopped the car of a citizen of Tajikistan when he was driving from one Tajik village to another.
As a result, a shootout broke out between the border guards of both states, including with the use of mortars.
By the evening of the same day, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan agreed on a complete ceasefire on the border.
