Tahmina Akefi, who continuously puts herself forward as the ‘great love’ in the life of the late Peter R. de Vries, strikes back at his bosom friend Kees van der Spek. “It doesn’t bother me much.”
The close friends of the late Peter R. de Vries are quite annoyed by Tahmina Akefi. Everywhere she goes, she shouts that she was his great love, but according to his children and close friends, that was really his ex-wife Jacqueline. Nevertheless, after a TV documentary, Tahmina also publishes a book about her love story with Peter.
Criticism of Kees
Kees van der Spek, Peter’s bosom friend, has openly expressed his doubts about Peter and Tahmina’s relationship. “The special thing is, of course, that we didn’t see her during that relationship. Never. I’ve hardly heard of Peter about her, to be honest,” he said.
He doesn’t think it’s a good idea that Tahmina is milking her alleged love story with Peter. “I understood that it was also quite often on and off, that it was not a constant relationship. I think she’s making it very big now posthumously, but I don’t always think it’s very fresh what’s happening there.”
“Doesn’t bother me!”
Tahmina is now responding in the AD to Kees’ criticism. “Because of Peter I can put it aside. That criticism doesn’t bother me that much. I know the truth, the book is an answer to everything. Fortunately, I have a lot of people around me who support me,” she says.
What does she mean by she can handle it because of Peter? “Every time he appeared on television, he got a lot of criticism. He was someone who was not afraid of anything, what people thought of him and how they talked about him didn’t interest him.”
Letters and apps
Tahmina ignores the suggestion that she is sucking everything from her thumb. “Someone advised me to write down only what I can prove, and I followed that advice. No one can say: ‘That’s not right,’ everything is in the many letters and texts I have received from Peter.”
Incidentally, there are also doubts about the alleged notes that Tahmina would have received from Peter. According to Yvonne Coldeweijer, she has a dubious history of writing notes.
