Ridouan Taghi has been further isolated in the Extra Secure Institution in Vught (EBI). The prison management transferred him within the institution two weeks ago. He is now staying in a new department consisting of one cell and one living space, a lawyer confirmed to Crimesite.
A special department has been built for Ridouan Taghi in the Extra Secure Institution (EBI) in Vught. The most notorious resident is no longer in a ward with six cells, but all alone.
The EBI always had four departments with six cells each. It seems that the new department E1 has been introduced especially for Taghi.
According to his lawyer, Thomas van der Horst, the living space is considerably smaller than in the previous department and there are fewer facilities. Van der Horst: “Taghi describes the department as two adapted storage areas.”

Contact between Taghi and fellow detainees had been impossible for some time. He is suspected of various murders or incitement to commit murder. Taghi is the prime suspect in the Marengo liquidation process. His lawyer Inez Weski was recently arrested for allegedly helping him pass on information.
Earlier, his cousin and lawyer Youssef Taghi was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison for helping with an escape plan and passing on information.
