Taekwondo, Dell’Aquila world champion after Olympic gold

Olympic champion and now world champion. Vito Dell’Aquila after the gold at the Tokyo Games conquers his first world title in the -58 kg. At the taekwondo World Championships in Guadalajara (Mexico) the 22-year-old from Mesagne was the protagonist of a perfect match, right from the two 2-0 wins in the round of 32 and in the round of 16 (over the Saudi Riad Hamdi and the Egyptian Mostafa Mansour). In the quarterfinals he beat the Kazakh Samirkhon Ababakirov 2-1, overturning an initial disadvantage situation, in the semifinals a clear 2-0 against the home idol Brandon Plaza Hernandez.
