Berlin has too few teachers. Is school senator Astrid-Sabine Busse (SPD) doing enough to solve the problem? A comment from BZ editor Oliver Ohmann.
Berlin has at least 1000 teachers too few. Hundreds of students are missing a place in high school. These are facts, this is reality.
But red-green-red – in the person of the school senator Busse – hides this reality. The lack of teachers and school places is simply wiped off the agenda in the education committee.
That’s what I call squire manner, Madam Senator.
You have political responsibility in this city. You hold an office in which you have to serve the citizens of Berlin. When a senator ducks away from the problems in education, one shirks one’s responsibilities. But if that’s the case, why do politics at all?
Berlin’s schools are in dire need. We need a school senator to tackle the problems. Do you do that, Ms. Busse?
