T-Mobile US shares on the NASDAQ weak after trading: Telekom subsidiary T-Mobile US looks back on a mixed quarter

After a mixed final quarter last year, the US mobile communications company T-Mobile US is optimistic about 2024 – at least in terms of operating results.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) in the core business, adjusted for special effects, are expected to rise to between $31.3 billion and $31.9 billion in the current year, Deutsche Telekom’s most important subsidiary announced on Thursday in Bellevue. In 2023, these values rose by around ten percent to just over 29 billion dollars (around 26.7 billion euros).

Last year, service revenue increased by around three percent to around $62 billion compared to the previous year. The increase is based on the increase in the number of customers by 5.9 million to almost 120 million. However, the plus is below the 2022 value. T-Mobile US expects up to 5.5 million new customers this year. Overall, last year’s results and the 2024 targets fell slightly short of the expectations of the experts surveyed by the Bloomberg news agency.

The share, which had recently performed well, initially fell by up to three percent after trading.
