System conversion at Hertha pleases Black

Despite the 17th place in the table, coach Sandro Schwarz from the Bundesliga soccer club Hertha BSC sees an upward trend after the system changeover.

“That was important because we had lost the 4-3-3,” said Schwarz at a press conference on Thursday before the home game against FC Augsburg on Saturday (3:30 p.m.), “as a coaching team, it’s our job to evaluate what can help the team with content. They did it very well.”

The 44-year-old had already switched to a 3-5-2 system in the second half of the 3-0 defeat in Frankfurt on matchday 19, as did the subsequent 4-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach and the 4-1 -Loss at Borussia Dortmund.

Despite the defeat at BVB, Schwarz was impressed by the performance of his players. “Three points would have been possible in the performance against Dortmund,” said Schwarz.

New winter signing Florian Niederlechner was also happy to have a colleague by his side in Jessic Ngankam in the storm. “We also played with two strikers in Augsburg,” said the 32-year-old, “you always have one with you for second balls.” And it is precisely on the so-called second balls that Schwarz attaches so much importance in the game against Augsburg that these situations were rehearsed in team training this week.

At the same time, Niederlechner cannot be sure that he will play against his old club from the start. “Let’s see if Niederlechner is in the starting eleven,” said Schwarz, who praised Niederlechner’s efforts in previous games and in training.

The “table football“ writes on his website that when Niederlechner moved from FCA to Berlin in winter, a commitment clause was agreed. At the request of the German Press Agency, Hertha spokesman Marcus Jung said that the club did not comment on the content of the contract.

Filip Uremovic, who had to leave the field prematurely in Dortmund with a knee injury, is also still open. The defender has not yet been able to complete a full team training session, Schwarz puts his effort at 50:50.

Agustin Rogel could take the place of the 26-year-old Croatian. Stevan Jovetic is ready again, although probably not yet for the starting XI.
