It seems that the heyday of Sylvie Meis is really over now that her TV career has finally reached a dead end, says Private boss Evert Santegoeds. “It is different than before.”
Sylvie Meis was a big TV star in Germany for years, but nowadays we only see her as a kind of over-aged influencer with nail polish and mascara. “She is no longer on TV and a TV show was of course the billboard for everything else she does. Of all the advertising activities she has.”
In the doldrums
Speaking is Evert Santegoeds, the editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine Privé. He tells in his column Strictly Private that signboard is no longer there. “Her TV career has been in the doldrums for a few years now. She came back to Das Supertalent, but that comeback only lasted one year, while everyone had proposed a lot.”
He continues: “After that she did a kind of reality show: Love Island. That was not a great success either. In that respect, her career is pretty much in the doldrums.”
No Sylvie TV
The fact that there is no longer Sylvie TV is a hard blow for her, says Evert. “Sometimes Sylvie on TV is of course important if you are such a billboard for many brands and you get paid by hair extension companies and things like that. Then it makes sense that you are on TV. If you are not, you regularly disappear into the doldrums.”
She’s hooked up with a rich guy, hasn’t she? Yes, but according to Evert none of that helps. “They do not live together and do not have a financial household together.”
12 thousand euros
It is not the case that Sylvie is on the verge of bankruptcy, says Evert. “You don’t have to feel sorry for Sylvie, you know. She pays 12 thousand euros for her house in Hamburg every month, so as long as she can continue to pay that, things are apparently going well and the cash register is ringing.”
“But yes, it is different from before, when it came in from all sides, almost.”
