Sylvie Meis is not surprised with a divorce: ‘Was marriage a PR stunt?’

Sylvie Meis does not exactly cause a shock wave with the news that she is going to divorce Niclas Castello. “Would that minimum two and a half years of marriage have been contractually agreed?”

The marriage of Sylvie Meis to Niclas Castello is stranded after two and a half years because of their different lifestyles. The two never saw each other because they live in other countries and critics have long doubted whether there really was love. Was this a real marriage or a public relations venture that both hoped to benefit from?

Mal pr marriage

Story boss Guido den Aantractor is sceptical. “Would that minimum of 2.5 years of marriage have been contractually agreed, my cynical mind immediately wonders”, he tweets.

He continues: “Don’t say I never warned you about this silly PR marriage (with little return, though). Anyway: luckily we still have the photos.”

His follower Aaltje then: “I never understood what that marriage was based on. There was absolutely nothing to show that he was crazy about her. He didn’t even want to be recognizable in the wedding photos.”

No surprise

Private boss Evert Santegoeds is also not surprised, he says in Shownieuws. “It didn’t come as a surprise of course, let’s be honest. They never really saw each other. Then Sylvie can say that it was a modern marriage, but that is not what she wanted.”

He continues: “Actually, it has always had a difficult foundation, because he does not like publicity and then you marry one of the most photographed women in Germany. That was not the perfect combination.”

Four days

Evert never had faith in Sylvie’s marriage to this Niclas, who is some sort of artist. “The marriage lasted four days. That was the last time they were together for four days. It was not born entirely for luck.”

Did Niclas want to increase his market value through that marriage? The question is how much that helped. “It has always been a bit iffy. He always pretended that his works of art were sold for thousands, but we were never able to establish that.”
