Sylvester Stallone reveals first details and explains his absence

Creed 3 without Sylvester Stallone? Unimaginable for many fans. Now the “Rocky” star commented on the new boxing film for the first time and called it “really interesting”.

Sylvester Stallone rules calmly

In “Creed 3” Michael B. Jordan is directing for the first time in addition to his role as the main actor. The actor’s directorial debut is slated to hit theaters on November 23, 2022, and will take place sans Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa. Speaking to The Mirror at the launch of the Paramount+ streaming service in the UK, the actor was extremely relaxed when asked about the reason for his absence. He stressed that it was his own decision not to appear in the new installment:

“Actually, I retired from this film, I just didn’t know if there was a role for me. I heard it’s really interesting. It goes in a different direction. I wish them all the best – and keep hitting!”

After stepping down from the lead role, Stallone will continue to produce the film. Still, Stallone fans can look forward to new films starring the acting legend himself. Next, Stallone appears in the upcoming superhero flicks Samaritan, The Expendables 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The 75-year-old will also appear in the drama series Tulsa King.

“Creed”

Creed – Rocky’s Legacy was released in 2015 and was a huge hit. The boxing film, starring Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed, son of Apollo, is a spin-off of the “Rocky” film series and earned Sylvester Stallone an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. The sequel “Creed 2 – Rocky’s Legacy” followed in 2019.
